EAT YOUR BACKYARD: Spring Foraging Series
5:30-7pm every other Wednesday through the spring (April 19, May 3, 17, 31, June 14th)
Spring is here! You will be amazed at how much is already in bloom here on the Front Range, and how quickly that will change--one set of flowering plants giving way to another, and then another and another after that in a symbiotic dance.
On these guided hikes you will get to know the wild, edible and medicinal plants growing right here in our own Boulder backyard. The series will focus on locating and identifying native trees, shrubs and herbs. Depending on what we find, there may be opportunities for a trail snack or tea!
You will come away from these evening hikes reconnected to the earth and inspired by its seasonal bounty. Grab a friend, or your kid, or your partner, and come forage with us! You are welcome to come to all or just one of these Wednesday evening sessions.
Location: We will meet at Eben G. Fine Park at 3rd and Arapahoe at 5:30pm. From there we will head up the viewpoint trail to panorama point. The trail switchbacks up for about a mile to Panorama Point, at which point we'll turn around and come back the way we came.
Expect: Moderate hiking with ample stops to study trees, shrubs and herbs all around us.
Bring: Water, layers and a notebook. On rain or shine.
Cost: $10 cash or pay here.
